FRG History
FRG, was founded in 1982 by Joe Dowdell Sr. as Dowdell and Associates. At its inception, Joe Sr. sold Polaroid analog and digital film recorders out of his home office in Sleepy Hollow, IL. As sales continued to build, Joe Sr. brought in his son Joe Jr. to assist with the growth of the business, and from there, "the rest is history." In 1991, the father-son duo moved the business out of house and into their first office, hiring more employees, some of those being long time friends.
In 1994, with a blend of experienced, loyal employees, the company was awarded a Federal GSA contract, and business again took off. The GSA contract allowed Fox River Graphics to increase its product lines and expand its array of expertise. Continued growth and the need for more office space landed the company in Carpentersville, IL in 1998. Setting up the new office on the Fox River and creating a new brand, Fox River Graphics.
In 2008, MSPACE was introduced to Fox River Graphics by Joe Jr. The two companies were instantly connected, as MSPACE CEO Ryan Heining and Joe Sr. began building a new partnership. Joe Sr and Ryan shared common business values along with a strong sense of support for the US Military. Both men had previously served as US Army Field Artillery offices and Joe later retired as a Lt Col in the US Air Force. This strong connection and sharred values were the basis of the new partnership.
In 2009, MSPACE announced the acquisition of Fox River Graphics, resulting in renewed sense of mission and focus on the GSA contract of Federal market. Joe Sr. remained on board for the first twelve months and continues to provide expertise and support as FRG continues to expand. In 2011, Tom Basset joined the company's leadership team as CEO. Tom enhances the Fox River Graphic team with his mission approach to the federal government and expansion, and his experience as a retired U.S. Army Contract Officer.
